Swedish car maker Volvo’s XC40 recently achieved a five-star rating in Euro NCAP assessment. By this, XC40 has also joined the group of their safest car like 60 and 90 series. In March 2018, the XC40 named European car of the year too!!!

Euro NCAP is the five-star safety rating system to help users compare cars more easily while making the safest choice of their requirements. It’s determined through a series of vehicle test, which is done by Euro NCAP. The number of stars shows how well the car performs in this test but which safety equipment vehicle manufacturer offers in the market matters. Here keep in mind that a car rated poorly has no the meaning that it’s unsafe but it’s not as safe as the cars rated better than that.

This year’s latest Euro NCAP 2018 was the toughest ever with more demanding challenges on safety innovations which included emergency lane keeping assist and cyclist-detection system. The new XC40 rated the highest star among all the cars tested under this newly updated test rating.

Malin Ekholm, head of Volvo Cars Safety Centre said “The new XC40 is one of the safest cars on the market. It comes standard with the largest offering of safety technology of any compact SUV’s helping drivers detect and avoid the collision, remain safe in their lane and reduce the impact of accidentally running off the road.”

All Volvo cars have now five-star ratings in their respective Euro NCAP tests.  XC60 was also the overall best performing large off-roader and best performer in the prestigious Euro NCAP 2017, best in class safety awards. The same was crown to XC90 in the previous year 2015.
