BMW and Jaguar Land Rover confirmed that both these companies will work together to develop next-generation Electric vehicles that will enhance many factors such as technology advancement of autonomous, connected, electric and shared mobility.
While both the companies have their own EVs such as award-winning pure electric SUV I-pace of Jaguar Land Rover which has its own hybrid technology and i3 (2013 model) of BMW.
The strategic collaboration will build on the considerable knowledge and expertise in electrification at both companies. The agreement will enable both companies to take advantage of efficiencies arising from shared research and development and production planning as well as economies of scale from joint procurement across the supply chain, JLR said in an official statement.
