Mercedes-Benz has introduced the intuitive and adaptive multimedia system MBUX- Mercedes-Benz User Experience at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas last January 2018, which will go into the series production in the all-new A-class in 2018. Along with that, new Mercedes Me services become available.
With the role of artificial intelligence, this MBUX has the unique learning capacity. It is customizable and adapts to the user creating an emotional connection between the driver, passenger, and vehicle. It is possible to ‘Update over the air’, too. The intelligent voice control with natural voice recognition, the high-resolution wide cockpit with touchscreen operation and the navigation display with Augmented Reality technology will be the main attraction about MBUX.
To operate this Multimedia system, there’re three different ways- Touch Screen, TouchPad and Touch Buttons. Touch Screen will be available in the different cockpit version with different sizes of the instrument cluster and the touch screen. It uses NVIDIA graphics for its basic and top graphics chip, has 8GB DDR4 RAM and is operates on the Linux operating system.
The operating concept is based on three levels with increasing density of information. Home screen, Base screen, and Fullscreen. The home screen is the first level with includes freely selectable main application i.e. telephone, navigation, and radio. And some most important information such as arrival time, the song currently playing etc.
The base screen is the next level of home screen which details the information about the main application one step away. In full screen, the entire surface of the instrument cluster is used to display assistance, travel or navigation information.
“Hey Mercedes” hangs on every word you say! Natural speech comprehension, LINGUATRONIC in the MBUX listens to almost everything you say, recognizes and understands all from the infotainment and the vehicle operation. Intelligent system MBUX is also the basis of all four strategic CASE domains. The CASE stands for Connected, Autonomous, Shared & services and Electric. This system will bring a real revolution in the user experience in the cockpit of the passenger car.
