Making the improvisation in the quality and the safety of car manufacturing, Indian made sub-4 meter SUV scored overall 4-star rating in a recent crash test carried out by the Global NCAP (New Car Assessment Programme) as per the standard offset deformable barrier crash test at 64 kmph. The latest version of Tata Nexon which is having dual passenger airbags, front dual pre-tensioner, ABS and, ISOFIX anchorages, scored 4 stars in adult occupant protection and 3 stars in child occupant protection.
The rearward facing CRS with ISOFIX anchorages provides the good protection of 18 months child while forward facing CRS with ISOFIX anchorages provides good protection for head and limited for chest.
David Ward, Secretary General of Global NCAP said – “The 4 stars awarded to the Tata Nexon represent a very strong result from a major Indian car manufacturer. This impressive safety performance is comfortably above the new crash test standards applied in India to new models since October 2017. The Global New Car Assessment Programme (Global NCAP) has launched a campaign named #SaferCarsForIndia in 2014 with the objective of promoting safer vehicles in the country and the establishment of a Bharat NCAP Programme. And in the First set of #SaferCarsForIndia campaign result of 2018, NCAP has released the result of the crash test of newly launched Tata Nexon which is greatly encouraging the Make In India to the next level.
