Mercedes Me is the application that connects the vehicle to the user’s phone or tablet in which a user can obtain the information relevant to their vehicle and access digital services.

There are two different methods to use this application depending on the model year of the vehicle and its hardware fittings which are Mercedes Me Adapter and Mercedes Me connect. You can only use either. In these two ways, functionalities also differ. The vehicles made as of 2007 up to October 2019 are only compatible with Mercedes Me Adapter and the vehicle made as of October 2019 till the date are only compatible with Mercedes Me Connect.

Mercedes Me Adapter

Mercedes Me Adapter costs 5000INR exclusive GST. It connects to a smartphone or tablet via Bluetooth. In this case, the adapter is responsible to send the accessible vehicle data to the user. Smartphone compatibility required is, for Apple, iPhone 5, 5C, 5S, 6, 6 Plus, 6S, 6S Plus, SE, 7, 8, 8 Plus, X having operating system iOS 9 or higher and for Android, operating system 5 or higher. For both iOS and android, one common adapter is available.

1. Customer account creation in MMCR (dealer)
2. Email verification
3. Accepting terms of use and service activation
4. Link vehicle in Mercedes Me connect retail (dealer)
5. Download Mercedes Me application and sign in
6. Insert adapter in OBD and pair it with smartphone via Bluetooth
7. Start the app again and follow the instruction

Maintenance Scope- Know your service dues, vehicle history and book your appointment and get the estimate for the upcoming repairs through the app. It also shows preferred dealer information. Users can also get assistance in breakdown or accident.

Cockpit Mode- Get to the live data like oil and coolant temperature, warning lamp notifications, driver score, etc.

Park and find- Entering into a tight parking space? Remote Park Pilot feature allows the user to control the parking process at ease from the Mercedes Me app. It also tracks vehicle when you forgot where you parked.

Features for Mercedes Me Adapter application is limited to an extent. But you can use a wide range of features when you use Mercedes Me connect. I will share more information about it later via another article.

With the role of artificial intelligence, this MBUX has the unique learning capacity. It is customizable and adapts to the user creating an emotional connection between the driver, passenger, and vehicle. It is possible to ‘Update over the air’, too. The intelligent voice control with natural voice recognition, the high-resolution wide cockpit with touchscreen operation and the navigation display with Augmented Reality technology will be the main attraction about MBUX.

To operate this Multimedia system, there’re three different ways- Touch Screen, TouchPad and Touch Buttons. The base screen is the next level of home screen which details the information about the main application one step away. In full screen, the entire surface of the instrument cluster is used to display assistance, travel or navigation information.
